Aquiline. Adj

1. Belonging to or like an eagle.

2. Curving; hooked; prominent, like the beak of an eagle—applied particularly to the nose.

The new portico that Grandpa added to the house looks like an alien appendage.

1. Austere, frugal, sternly disciplined.

2. Relating to Sparta or its citizens.

Though the money was good, James couldn’t stand the Spartan steel and linoleum office environment.

Subterfuge. Noun

A stratagem or artifice to evade an argument, avoid a duty or escape a consequence.

Not wanting to stress the tortoise is the worst subterfuge I’ve ever heard to escape mowing the lawn.

Though Mr. Smith may seem a sentient being he isn’t.

2. Lack of energy, in particular as a result of an illness or convalescence from one.
