Bee leaf it oak knot, mighty Random House has opened the doors for direct submission to four new digital imprints Loveswept (romance & women’s fiction), Alibi (mystery & suspense), Hydra (sci-fi, fantasy & horror) and Flirt (new adult). What are you waiting for?

Mediabistrohas an excellent article with links to Random House’s release:

You may present any manuscript in which you control exclusive copyright. We are open to previously-published manuscripts as long as the submitting author now controls all electronic and print publishing rights. Please submit the entire query form at the link below. If we are interested in considering your full manuscript, you will be contacted with further submission instructions. We make every effort to respond to submission inquiries within 2-4 weeks after submission of the submission query form; please do not resubmit previously submitted queries, as this may create delays.

All details and links to submission forms are at the purpose-built Random House website here.

We hear fromThe Hollywood Reporter, that the Tolkien estate and Harper Collins have slapped an $80 million lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. The plaintiffs claim that Warner Bros., its New Line subsidiary and Rings/Hobbit rightsholder Saul Zaentz Co. have infringed their copyright and breached a contract.

Mere weeks before the release of the first film in the long-anticipated big-screen adaptation of The Hobbit, the estate of author J.R.R. Tolkien has sued the film's producers, claiming they are overstepping their rights when it comes to merchandising the property and The Lord of the Rings.

You can read, and download in PDF, the full copy of the lawsuit here.
